The Spaghetti Squash Struggle
So you have finally decided to give this pasta substitute thing a try. You are SO excited because everyone is raving at how similar it is to spaghetti!! So… you purchase your squash and google how to prepare this new vegetable you are testing out. As you search through the thousands of techniques you start to realize you don’t know which one will actually turn out good.
I am here to share with you today, my Triple S “Spaghetti Squash Struggle!”
Recipe after recipe, technique after technique, new times, new temperatures. Did it need a drizzle of oil?? When was my spaghetti squash going to turn out to be what everyone was raving about!?
So after a few soggy, watery and “ok” bakes… I came to the solution!!
SO HERE IT IS!
Let’s keep this simple:
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F.
- Place the whole spaghetti squash onto a sheet pan. (Do not cut it or anything)
- Bake for 1 hour!
- Remove from oven. Cut in half.
- Remove seeds and VOILA!
- Use a fork to shred the flesh into spaghetti-like squash noodles.
Season and garnish with sauces and toppings of your preference! I find that it is easier and fun to serve it straight in the little squash boat.
The search is over… now go enjoy your perfect spaghetti squash! 🙂
